BATCH function unavailable

In bridge when I try to run an action via batch.....Photoshop opens and an error box comes up saying the Batch function is unavailable.

When I go to photoshop and click FILE...AUTOMATE....the BATCH function is greyed out.

How can I change this, I really want to use the batch function to run actions on multiple files.

The only time I've experienced the symptoms you reported (FILE...AUTOMATE....BATCH greyed out) was when I'd inadvertantly cleared/purged the Actions Palette, as in no actions for Batch to run.

Is this a possibility?

just checked and that seems to be the problem.....how do I get the standard actions back? not sure where they went.

From the Actions Palette menu choose "Reset actions." That will restore the standard actions that are installed with PS.
