Hi, I'm Lia
I have a lot of channels in my PSD file with 119 layers. More than 20. They are useful but not in the same time. So I have to remove most of them. To remove a Channel I have to select the Channel than remove it. OK, BUT: How can I remove 15 channels? By doing the same procedure 15 times? Why I cannot use the same procedure as delete more layers (Shift) in one step?

What version of Photoshop are you using? There is a Script for that. May be already installed or you may have to download it from the Adobe Exchange.

I use Photoshop CS3 Extended.
Can you help me with this Script?

Go to File>Scripts and see if there's something there called deleteChannels or removeAlpha. If so you can run it on a document or include it in an action to batch many documents.
If it isn't there, download it: <

Check out the manual or Help for more info on how to run scripts.

Or do a save as and uncheck the Alpha channel box.

Cool lateral thinking :)

Hey Cyb. I've got a complaint. - Where have you been until now!!
For the past three years I've been using an batch action which takes a folder of PSDs, at their final size, and Creates a same size HQ Jpeg to send for printing at the Colour Lab and at the same time a low-res version for email web use etc.
The number of times that action has stopped with a warning about Alpha channels is nobody's business!
I'll be modifying that action pronto.
As JJ said: good lateral thinking.

Good idea. But doesn't that add "copy" in some version? Seems I've seen that complained about.

Yes it does and I'm always removing it.
Chris: please let me know if unchecking the Alpha channel box works when running a batch. I'd be curious to know.

It should work. I'll give it a try at the weekend.

Thanks everybody for your replies.
Ed, I downloaded and used "deleteChannels" script but it isn't what I need. One by one I need one of my channels, so I don't want to remove them all.

Save that one channel into a different file, then run the script, then reload the channel.
If the channel you want to keep always has the same name, you should be able to include this in the script.
