I’m on 10.4.11 with Photoshop CS4 Extendend, but when I open a DICOM file, the option to ‘open as volume’ is greyed out. I tried this with a number of files, and it was the same for all of them.

All the other 3D feature work, so iI guess it’s not a hardware-problem.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

I see it is probably not supported. You have to use a supported format.

Can you open a few of the frames from the DICOM open dialog and ‘Import frames as layers’? Then select all of the layers and try 3D> New Volume From Layers…

How many frames do you files contain?

Volume Rendering requires more horsepower than many of the other 3D features so it still could be a video card issue. What are the specs for your video card and system?

It was a hardware-thing with the G5, works fine on my new MacBook Pro.

Thank you for your help!
