Hi guys,
A friend of mine has Mac Pro from 2004 with Panther, she asked me if Photoshop CS 3 will work on her Mac? I did a search on the internet, but I could not find any info.
She was having troubles with savings large files (the disk full message) even she has 30 Gb free of disk. I don´t know which thing could give her the troubles to a bad performance
a) 1 Gb Ram (she bought 3 Gb today)
b) Panther instead of Tiger (at least)
c) Photoshop 7
Any clues or ideas?
Thanks for any info!
Cheers,
Sebastian

Are you sure that you mean "Panther" on a Mac "PRO"?
The minimal requirements for CS3 were:
PowerPC G4 or G5, or Intel-based Macintosh
Mac OS X v.10.4.8
(which is Tiger not Panther and that should be upgraded to 10.4.11 anyway).

There is no way Panther will run on a Mac Pro.

I have seen she has an alumnium Mac computer which is not an iMac...i am pretty sure it IS a Mac Pro G5. It should be the very first model. I asked by the phone to click in "About this mac" and it says
Mac OS 1.3.9 (or something like it) so I guess is not Tiger, it should be Panther insted
Am i right?

Thanks for the info Buko!
I am Mac OS X Tiger user myself and quite happy with it. I preferred compared to Leopard. Do you know if Tiger is still available? Can my friend upgrade the system online?

Do you know if Tiger is still available?
Probably not from Apple. But try a reputable vendor like amazon.com or retrosoftware, etc.

Thanks Ramón. I will check my options for getting Tiger in Spain. Amazon is not as easy from here.
