I’ve been poking around for an hour..grrr…. and still can’t determine which version of Photoshop Elements I have.

I purchased the book "Photoshop Elements 2 Simplified" yesterday but can’t tell if I have version 2.

Thanks in advance for your help.

In Elements, click on the Help menu>About Photoshop Elements and it will tell you. Also you can see the version number on the splash screen as it opens. Another clue…the icon for Elements 2 is a yellow sunflower.

if you have a sunflower icon then it’s version 2
if you have an eyeball icon then version 1

splashscreen would have either sunflower(v2) or pretty asian girl with camera (v1)

I know it’s written somewhere else but can’t remember at the moment.

Marrilee,

Also, you might look on the label of the PE installation cd – it should be in very small numbers right under the "nts" of "Adobe Photoshop Elements". I got my PE in a bundle when I bought my Epson scanner.
