Hello-
I have a 1.5 tb RAID-5 array via HighPoint RocketRaid 2320 controller consisting of 4x WD AAKS 500gb disks. It has PLENTY of space ;)
When I attempt to save ANY file format to that drive in PS7, I get the following message:
"Could not save as "path/filename"
because the disk is full."
However I can save to the disk properly from Image Ready. I can also save properly to the RAID-0 disk (same controller, 2x320gb Seagate 7200.10's).
I deleted the Preferences psp file, restarted, and had the same issue. Up until I started using this drive I've never had a problem.
Suggestions desperately wanted.

Known issue with PS 7. Partition the drive, fill it with junk or upgrade.

Do you know what the magic size is?
I truly did search for the message in all the FAQs and this board, and never found the message...

Thanks all-
Is it that the software mis-interprets the disk size? I can't believe this wasn't an issue back in 2000 when PS7 was out. I know we had several farms that were about that size.
Upgrading is out, unfortunately, because then I'd have to move off of W2K to XP or Vista. XP Pro would be OK, but you can't buy it anymore... and I don't think I'm ready for Vista.
I'll keep searching for a workaround. I can't imagine it would take them very long to fix it (especially since the correct code already exists in Image Ready)- a couple hours for a developer to locate it, edit it, then send it off to CM to build, and release an unofficial 'patch' for >1tb arrays.
Oh well.

They won't be patching 7 when they're up to 10!

Adobe doesn't patch old versions once a new version is released. As for workarounds, I gave them to you already. Any further searching will be a waste of your time.
XP Machines are readily available from many OEMs and you can certainly buy XP from many vendors.
The way I understand it, the problem is with a Windows bug that MS never fixed but Adobe worked around starting with PS CS.
You also need to keep in mind that when PS 7.0 was released one TB storage was quite rare.

the workarounds have been around for a LOOOOONG time now, they're listed in post #1.

Thanks Bob / Dave-
I found via google a workaround- it's a patch to the Photoshop program itself.
I did a diff of the file afterwards and found it different by 3 bytes, so I know there's no virus inserted. So far it's let me access the raid just fine.
