CS3 Large temp files

Computer is HP pavilion dual Intel 2GB windows vista ultimate 64 CS3 shipping version (just got it this is from first try to use it, CS works fine on this machine) Upon trying to crop an image CS3 became non responsive, Ram usage maxed out with cpu usage minimal but hard drive active. Used task manager to stop CS3. Re started computer to release memory usage.
Again tried to crop an image with same result.
Checked hard drive free space and "c" drive was almost full. Found two Photoshop temp files of 27.1 GB each in user temp folder.

Any ideas?

Photoshop cleans up and tidies up the house before closing the front door.

However, if something causes it to leave suddenly via a side door, or if you get a broken Windows, you’ll have to clean up the mess next time you switch on.

Problem solved user error

In my rush to use the new program when I set up the crop tool did not notice it was set to "in" when I needed "px" so Photoshop was trying to make a really big image for me.
