I just installed CS on my new Dell XPS 410 preloaded with Vista Home Premium. I’m planning to upgrade to CS3 when it is released.

I have 2 gigs of RAM and a 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 pro video card.

Installation went fine, but some mouse functions don’t work on the new machine:

I can’t use the mouse to select, move, or close an opened image, or to maximize, minimize or close or toggle the file browser. I have to use the menu. Obviously, this slows my workflow so much that I can’t use CS at all.

Any ideas?

You could try using the CS3 beta in the meantime, or downloading a trial version of CS2 that’ll work for 30 days…

You have to have a CS2 license in order to get a CS3 serial number.

Unfortunately Vista problems may take a bit of doing to work out since it’s so new.

Of course the first thing I’d try is trashing the prefs.
