Removed CS3 Now can't open bridge from photoshop

The only option in the technote I haven't tried is uninstalling and reinstalling the whole dang suite. What a pain that will be.

I have posted on the CS3 forum, and no joy. Was wondering if anyone here had any advice?

BTW: Adobe Photoshop returns the error, "Error 2: photoshop is undefined. Line 1 -> photoshop.invokeBridge (false, false, ");" when you attempt to start Adobe Bridge by choosing File > Browse or by clicking Go To Bridge in the Options bar.

Hi Ruth,

I had the same problem after uninstalling CS3. It turns out that CS3 installs a new version of one of the startup scripts, and doesn't save the old one. So when you uninstall CS3 there are problems for CS2.

The script is called photoshop-9.jsx

If you can't find a copy of this script, I could email you a copy. You can find my email address on my homepage

You can also do a repair install of CS2 without the need to re-install everything. When you do this, any program updates you might have done , and any unsaved actions etc, will be lost.

Just checked my Bridge and everything seems to be working ok. It probably has to do with the fact that I didn't completely install CS3, since the installer kept hanging up on me. I've never much cared for Bridge anyways. I use Picasa2 if I want a quick look at my pics, or some quick and dirty editing. Bridge seems to drag to many system resources down.
