CS2 can't open and can't create new images

Whenever I try to open an image, Photoshop doesn't respond at all. It doesn't freeze, but it doesn't open the image. No error message is displayed.

The same behaviour occurs when I try to create a new image, and click on the "OK" button of the "New" Dialog. "New" Dialog disappears, but no new window is created.

ImageReady works perfectly.

I'm using Windows XP on an Athlon64 3500+ with 1 GB RAM, and GeForce 6600 with 93.71 ForceWare version.

I think if you look at the FAQs you'll see your answerl, Try resetting Preferences.
