Hi ,
I have two questions about exporting image with transparency from Photoshop to Illustrator ,
1. as I understand , the only way to export an image with transparency from Photoshop to Illustrator is to make a clipping path and than save it as a Tiff or PSD , than opening it in Illustrator. Is that right?
2. can I File>Place Photoshop images with transparency within Illustrator?
Thanks

1. No.
2. Yes.
Use PSD, and only 8 bits per channel.

Why you are so urgent Scott Falkner , if you have no desire to answer its was better to skip my thread.

Why are you so sensitive ShayGaghe?
He answered you didn't he?

Shay,
Scott has answered both your questions succinctly.
Namely, No, a clipping path is not the only way to preserver transparency and Yes, a PSD file placed in Illustrator will retain transparency and translucency.
What more do you want???

1. You don't export...you save. PSD is generally best. Check Photoshop
help for clipping path details, but in short it's simply a way to hide pixels. Everything inside is visible, everything outside is hidden.
2. Yes and No.
Yes, it's user to user forum. Nobody is getting paid to help you. I suggest you lighten up if you want to continue to receive help.
