it is finished installing it will try to access the ‘net, best choice is to stop it if your firewall catches it
going out to get the addys. "Just say NO" !! This one works sharply better than Irfanview, looks a
lot better too. Also it has a huge file type support
list.

Why should I use adware and take measures to block the ads if I can get Irfanview for free?

The "look" of a program is irrelevant if it does it’s task and IMHO Irfanview is near to perfect.

And to support a programmer, selling company licenses for a low fee seems to make more sense than to rely upon adware and spam around to get it distributed.

Does it preserve layers? If not, there are other viewers like XnView which do the same without ad nags.
