Moving Photoshop CS2 from old pc to new pc...Need help reactivating

Hello Everyone:
I need help transferring an activation from my old pc to my new pc.

1. I did an activation transfer on my old pc over the internet. Got a window reading: "The serial and activaion numbers are being sent to Adobe for product activation." The app on my old pc is still functional. (Isn't it supposed to be disabled?)

2. I then called the automated activation line, entered my serial number and got an activation code. I entered the code and got: "We appreciate your taking the time to activate this copy of Adobe Photoshop." However, the app on my old pc is still functional.

When I tried to install the app on my new pc, the Activation Window reads: "There is not enough disk space to start your application. Please delete some files from your PC qnd try again.

Any suggestions would be greatly, greatly, appreciated!

1. This sounds backwards from what I'd expect, if you quoted the text correctly. A transfer of activation should not result in "product activation" but rather deactivation. If the installation is deactivated, yes, upon launch of PC CS2 you should be prompted immediately to activate it or else it will not allow you to continue further as I recall. That it does leaves me to think the transfer activation didn't work properly, but I've never seen it fail.

2. If you only had PS CS2 on a single PC, this this would have been the 2nd allowed activation under the single-user retail license where, presumbably, one might activate a work PC and home PC, or desktop and laptop, etc. As long as there's not a 3rd PC to concern yourself with, then you've got two functional PS CS2 systems and nothing really to worry about. That said, the letter of the law dictates those two PCs cannot be used concurrently.

On the "not enough disk space" issue, I would assume the new PC has a new and large hard drive with plenty of free space? An error of this type often is due to insufficient free disk space to support the allocated scratch disk, which is 50% of your free RAM total by default. So, if you had 2GB of RAM, then allowing for overhead memory utilization, you'd need a scratch disk of 750MB-1GB by default. A search of the forum on "activation disk space" turns up others who have had this same problem, and one user reported that a change to the file permissons on the product license DAT file for PS CS2 resolved his problem.
