Colour Trouble

I am new to using photoshop. I had my friend over to teach me some tricks and now somehow my colour is stuffed up.
The colours I choose to use seems to be opposite to what it is on the colour swatch (e.g. black to white and green to purple) and it also sometimes turns to neon colours when drawn on images. Please help ><

tofu,

You have to be more specific: OS and PS versions, whether your monitor is calibrated (and how), which specific color spaces for what type and mode of images, exactly how you are selecting color, etc.

We can't see your computer from here, so please post details. Thanks.

My first guess is that the monitor profile is hosed.

Buko,

My thinking too...but without the details, you never know for sure.

I'm not sure how to be specific about this @@ ... but I'm using Photoshop CS3 on Mac OS. When drawn on a blank document, the colour just doesn't correspond to the colour i pick. (I pick colour through the swatches)

On a normal camera taken image on RGB mode, there seems to be a mix of colour (when using green purple shows up with a hint of green).. I hope this help. Um.. it was okay when I first installed it, but since the little "experimentation" with my friend it has been like this.

Is there someway I can upload the images to show you guys?

You need to do this forum the courtesy of explaining what you did to fix it.
