Type Tool in Photoshop CS3 Extended

Photoshop CS3 crashes when I select the type tool. It works fine other wise. I have clean up my fonts and trashed duplicates, but problem still there. I’m working on a new (8 months old) iMac 2 Ghz Intel dual core with 1 GB ram. Problem started all of a sudden. Any suggestions? Thanks, David

This problem JUST STARTED HAPPENING, and I am quite sure I’ve done nothing to cause it. This happens even when I select the type tool without opening or creating a new file. Help!

(CS3, macbook pro 17" duo, 10.5.5, etc.)

Have you checked for duplicate or corrupted fonts?

It’s alive! I got a hold of FontDoctor and messed with that for nearly an hour. It seems to have done the trick. I’m still not sure what happened this past week to provoke the crash, but I don’t really care anymore. Thanks.
