Hi,
Hope someone can help. I’ve had CS2 since last March and don’t recall if I’ve used this tool before. Tried to use it today and when the box comes up the "OK"and "Preview" buttons are greyed out, everything else looks fine. I must be doing or have something set wrong, but can’t figure out what. Can anybody help?

I have two PC’s window home edition on both, tried on both and didn’t work on either.

I assume you are using the Highlight and Fill Tools in the Extract dialog to choose the area you want extracted?

To expand: You must make a closed path with the Highlight tool. Could that be theh problem? Are you filling the highlighted area?

Hi guys,
Thanks for the response. I figured out what I was doing wrong. I wasn’t using the paint bucket to fill the area after I was done with the outline. I knew it was something stupid. I’d read the instructions for the extract filter three different times and wasn’t making any sense of it. Anyway, thank you for your help.

Try to use 3-d party products:

MaskPro http://www.ononesoftware.com
Background Remover http://www.imageskill.com
Knockout http://www.corel.com

If it makes you feel any better, the instructions for the Extract Filter are very poor.

I didn’t get it right till I read a couple of 3rd party tutorials.
