When I start CS2, the splash screen loads until it says "initializing menus" then stops loading. the splash frame stays frozen on the screen but the computer does not freeze.
In fact, all of the menu buttons (file, edit, view, etc.) work fine. i can change my color settings, preferences, etc. but cannot open an image or new image. when i try it gives the error of "Could not complete your request because photoshop cannot create any more windows". upon closing cs2, i get a c++ runtime error message.
Adobe bridge and other adobe programs work fine.
Ive tried numerous solutions to no avail such as complete uninstall/reinstall, defrag, prefs file deletion (then deleting all .psp files in that folder), running in safe vga mode, updating to 9.02, new user account, plugin deletion, font deletion…
none worked and it was just yesterday that everything was fine.
Thanks for the help.
