Photoshop CS too much RAM?

I remember a few years ago when Photoshop would not run if it had too much RAM. I think it was Version 4 in 1 Gig. Not sure. Anyway, I want to buy a new computer with 2 gigs of RAM. I have Photoshop CS (aka Version
8). Will it run okay in 2 Gigs.

Version 8 will run fine in 2G of RAM.

That was then. The common answer to how much RAM you should have now is "more."
