I’m using Photoshop on my Macbook Pro – I’m running Leopard.

When I attempt to make a layer with fonts, the type is unacceptably small. As in you can’t see it, even when the size is set to 72 at 100%.

I opened up a new document and made a type layer, which works just fine. Then I duplicated the layer to the image file I wanted the type on. It did appear – but it was at a ridiculous size like 2500.

What happened? I’ve never had a problem like this.

"Huge font problem with CS3"

Sounds like your problem is just the opposite.

Change your PPI. It is probably set to some absurdly small number like 1-pixel-per-inch.
