I use Photoshop CS3 10.0.1 on a dual, dual 2.5Ghz Intel Mac with 8Gig of Ram.
Everything was working fine until recently Photoshop started crashing with I use the refine edge tool. I can re-create the crash by lowering the feather value to any thing below 0.4 and hitting ok. The program crashes and the crash report says "Unmapped Memory Exception".
I have repaired permissions & fonts. Deleted photoshop permissions, and tried removing a couple of plug-ins that people on other forums recommended getting rid of. I also disabled version cue in the preferences. None of these worked.
