there is a filter that will do this but if you don't have or cant find try plying with the noise filter.

Hi all,There's lots of filters for this, or you can use the Pattern Fill method as Tacit describes, or you can use Sketch>Halftone Pattern--Lines. If you are using a Mac and you can find the Sucking Fish Filters Series use Midnights TV. It's the coolest.
