Flatten Image with Vanishing Tool

Hi all,

Okay... this seems like a really really simple technique, but, I can't figure out how to do it.

I have a image (as if you are looking directly at the top of the image). I would like to skew the image so that you are kind of looking at it from an angle (i.e. if you look at a box from the top, it is a square... but, if you move 45 degrees to one of the corners, you see 3 sides).

I have tried the vanishing tool and layered my plane properly, but can't seem to get the image to drop into it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have a photo of the front of a building (2D) there is no way you can rotate the image to be able to see a side (3D), it wasn't there to begin with.
Have you looked at Edit>Transform>Perspective or skew or Filters>Distort>Lens correction?

Doug,

Three video tutorials here for the vanishing point tool, Ribbon of Perspective, Instant Exterior and Cloning in Perspective.

Free Transform

Hold down the control key in any corner anchor point to move that corner independently.

Hold down Alt+Shift+Control to activate 2 handle perspective.

I find that Using just the Control key seems to give me more control when I am attempting to skew to exact dimensions.
