how would I batch process in CS2 to add file name eg. 001, 002, 003, to my pictures in the lower right corner.

Though I don't have CS2, I'm pretty sure that there's a script that ships on the install disk (if it isn't installed by default with CS2's other folders and files) that will do exactly what you ask for.
