How do you use the OpenType Wood Type Ornaments font in Photoshop CS2 on OS 10.4? I've tried using the Apple Character Pallet to insert the characters but the Insert with Font button is greyed out, and in Photoshop choosing the font, and turning on Ornaments in the OpenType menu on the Character pallet had no effect.

you need to activate the font with a font manager to use it

The font is activated, typing from the keyboard in Photoshop CS2 using the text tool results in large dots, not the symbols in the font.

You cannot access more than the basic 256 characters in a font directly from the keyboard.

The OTFs can contain many more characters than that and you can only reach them in programs which have a Glyphs palette (such as InDesign or illustrator).

Access the glyphs that you want in InD or Ai and copy/paste them into your Photoshop file.
