adjustment /auto levels

When I try to use the auto level or auto colour options under the Image/ adjustments heading I get a red colour cast added to the picture.If I use the auto contrast I get a blue cast added.Have I got a setting wrong somewhere please?

Found the answer under HELP.Seems you have to set "AUTO" yourself which seems rather perverse.Being colour blind I usually rely om auto settings to set me on the right track.I then make minor adjustments to suit my personal taste.
