Color Profile problem

I installed CS2 on a new system: old monitor but new video card. I ran Adobe Gamma to calibrate the monitor and create an ICC profile. The colors in the pictures I created in CS2 and used in Dreamweaver were then the way I wanted them.
However, the monitor frequently reverts back to the prior ICC profile with overly dark, saturated colors.

I can then reload my desired ICC profile, when everything is fine, till the monitor again reverts back to the prior profile.

What could be causing this errant behavior?

Thanks, CMA

Try resetting the Preferences file (as detailed in the FAQs)

Also, make sure "Adobe Gamma Loader.exe" is in your startup folder. You should also verify that the calibrated profile you created is listed as the default profile in the display properties dialog for the monitor.

Chris, which FAQs are you referring to for the Preferences?

Robert, this turned out to be exactly right. For some reason, Adobe Gamma Loader has to be loaded on startup. On other systems, I have not had to do this. Once the Adobe Gamma was set, it stayed, but not on this system.
