It looks like I need to upgrade to CS2 before I can make use of the Camera RAW Plugin that supports the FZ50. Is this true? As it is now I can only import a scrambled image or go through the bundled software, SilkyPix, which is anything but.
Thanks,
Marty

download the latest DNG converter and use that.

Thanks Buko, but I get this message from DNG Converter (2.4): "The source folder does not contain any supported camera raw files."
It's quite possible that I'm dumb. Any hints are appreciated.

You need the latest version of the DNG Converter, as Buko said in post #1. That would be the DNG Converter 3.6 not 2.4.
With DNG Converter 3.6, a stand-alone program, you convert your RAW files to DNGs, which in turn can be opened in ACR 2.4 hosted by Photoshop 8 (CS).

It's official then: I'm dumb. After much futzing around, the combo of DNG 3.6 and ACR 2.4 does allow Photoshop CS (8.0) to easily open a converted file from the Panasonic DMC-FZ50. Thanks muchly!

Glad you solved your problem.

By the way, no one who has the sense to ask the appropriate questions can ever be called dumb. You were smart to ask again.
