I am trying to set up a keyboard shortcut to duplicate layers.

When I try to set up opt-cmd-13 for the Layers/Duplicate… menu item, it tells me, ironically enough that that setting is already in use for "Duplicate without Dialog" – which is exactly what I want.

So I cancel any changes and go back and try that keyboard shortcut, it doesn’t do anything.

Any ideas or any ideas on where I can set/change the "Duplicate without Dialog" option?

Thanks!

It could be that the system is using that shortcut and you will need to disable that.

System Prefs > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts

I tried but nothing’s in there. Does that shortcut work on your machine?

There’s one already Joshua – Command J.

If you want the dialog to come up asking you for a name add the option key

The mnemotechnic tip for this shortcut is that you Jump the layer/the selected area to a new one.

I’m surprised the numbers on your keyboard go up to 13!
