I'm looking for a small beat-around digital camera to throw in my pocket when I go jogging and to let my 14 year old take places. Found the Digitex for $79 on sale from $149. Is anyone out there familiar with it? It's 3.2 megapixels F3.5 8.34 mm, uses AA alkaline, NIMH or lith batteries (will I go broke buying batteries? I don't think LCD can be turned off) uses MMC or SD card and has 8MB built in flash memory. Will I be totally dissapointed after using Sony DSC-V1? I have been using a 35mm film camera but am disappointed with the CD I get back with the prints from the processor. Will this camera produce decent digital images I can play with using Elements 2.0??? The store will hold the camera for 1 day (it's non returnable). Thank you very much in advance.

thought i'd bump this up but...I can't even find where this company makes cameras. R U sure it's a digitex ? Either way, you should know what to expect from a camera at this price so if ya just want something to monkey with and let your 14 year old use then I'm sure it will be fine. $79...can't get much cheaper than that for a 3mp camera...try it....ya never know.

Thanks Jodi, I can't seem to find anything on it either. It might be worth it to save the $79 and wait for brand name cameras to come down in prices. Appreciate you looking into it.
