I am running into what appears to be a file size limit with photomerge. I have a large number of 250 MB satilite imagery that I am trying to stitch into a single image. Photomerge works great for this job until the newly created file approaches approximately 1 Gig, at which point the program freezes during one of the "Erasing Hole" portions of the job.

I am running this on a dual G5 with 6 Gigs of ram. I have tried playing around with memory prefs, adjusting them from between 70% – 40%. The scratch disk is set to the second hard drive (not the startup disk) on which there are over 200 Gigs of free space. OS is 10.4.7.

Any thoughts would be most welcome.

I have found that manually stitching is far superior than photomerge.
