when i type in photoshop, a line is drawn through the center, how do i fix this?

On the character palette, uncheck the strikethrough which is the right hand most option.

Click on the Text Palette in the options bar after clicking on the text tool. Is the button for Strikeout depressed?

It’s the Character palette in versions CS(8) and CS2(9). It may have been the Text palette in some previous versions.

Click on the text tool, look at the top in the options bar towards the right.
