Print using 85 line screen how do I

I work for a newspaper, using photoshop i have to print in grey scale with an 85 line screen. I cant seem to get the screen to work. i have change it in image size and in print preview but the setting dosent seem to take effect.

Is the press plugged in the wall?

Try changing the mode to bitmap (halftone).

Don’t save anything.

The 85 line screen halftone is going to be generated by the RIP at output time for film or plates. Don’t concern yourself too much with it. Your attention should be directed to dot gain.

…. but if you’re curious, do change the mode to bitmap halftone to take a look.

If you’re importing the images into ID or Quark and printing to a postscript printer you should be able to choose your lpi and print a decent proof.
