I have drawn a path in the shape of a spoon with the pen tool and have tried to flow text around the OUTSIDE of the spoon. For some reason, the text goes on the inside of the path. I can't work out what I am doing wrong as I have done exactly the same thing before with no problems whatsoever.
It's driving me mad! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use the path selection or direct selection tool from the tool palette to move the text after it's been written. You'll have to play, cuz I certainly haven't figured out the rationale yet <grin>.

Watch the text tool cursor carefully before clicking on the path. You'll see it change as you get right on top of it. Click and type. That should give you what you're after.

Thanks for the reply. I have no problems getting the text to flow along the path, but the problem is getting it to flow the right way! My text keeps flowing in an anti clockwise direction inside my path which is in the shape of a spoon. I wanted it to flow clockwise along the top of the spoon shaped path. I know that this is possible because I have done it previously without difficulty.!!!!!!!!!

From the Help file:
To move or flip type on a path:
Select the Direct Selection tool or Path Selection tool and position it over the type. The pointer changes to an I-beam with an arrow.
Do one of the following:
To move text, click and drag the type along the path. Be careful not to drag across the path.
To flip text to the other side of the path, click and drag the type across the path.

I haven't got CS2 to test this, but the method of Illustrator probably works. When you select the text on a path, an I-beam will appear at the start, end or middle, depending on what the justification is. You grab this I beam and drag in in or out of the shape, or along the shape if you want the type to move.

Is that different from #4?

Sometimes different wording adds to clarity on confusing issues.

Fair enough Don.
