I get this a lot when my actions don’t work. What is it referring to?

We don’t know – because we don’t have the actions or the instructions that come with the actions.

Most likely you didn’t follow the instructions for the action such as: "make a selection first", "make sure you have a layer selected", etc.

When an action attempts to execute a command or option within a command that’s greyed out, message "The command [whatever] is currently not available" is displayed.

There are many situations that can cause this problem, among which are the ones Chris noted.

In some, but not all cases, one way to get around this error is to first duplicate your image, apply an Image > Flatten Image command to the duplicate and then run the action.
