Did you ever get this resolved? I’m trying to open a graphics file that I purchased over the net, but it won’t parse correctly. Thanks!

Hi Jenny

Unfortunately the problem remains unresolved so I had to rescan the negative. This time I also saved it as an uncompressed TIFF.

Try opening the eps in every other program that you have. Photoshop is very exacting about file formats, and will not open files that others will. Once you have it opened, save a new version of that. If the application writes a proper eps, then Photoshop will open it.

Just curious: Why would a scanner output an EPS file, which is vector format, given that the output of a scan is raster format?

Hi Michael

I did the scan in Photoshop and happened to be doing some pre-press and inadvertantly saved it only as an eps.
