when i try to open a .mov file on my photo shop CS it comes up with this error message : - Could not complete this operation. A plug-in system error has occurred. (error #1061250160) i do not understand why?

Well, I've never tried, nor wanted to open a movie in Image Ready, until I read your post. Try a re-install, is all I can think of. I never knew that IR could import this format - so you're obviously missing something from the install routine.
