Photoshop CS2 freezes when using Brushes.

I messed up and posted to the wrong forum (I did a search on brush crash or something) and saw this post on Mac side:

If anyone is having issues pointed out in that thread on Windows, let Adobe know, because it's not just a Mac bug.

I posted a complete windows process output on the other thread as well to help Adobe kill this serious bug.

I think I may have figured out a cause for the bug, at least it shows on my PC version.

In the brush menu, in expanded view, if there is a "lock" on a feature like shape Dynamics and I switch from brush to brush, the selected brush is not highlighted. If I turn off the lock OR turn off the check in the shape dynamics then the brushes show up as selected.

The point of this observation is that if all checks and locks are turned off in the brush pallet (not just scattering or smoothing like their knowledge base article talks about) the zombie state does not come up. I scribbled away for almost an hour (which is about 4X the time I get with the checks or locks turned on).

Anyone having this problem, try making sure that all checks and locks are turned off in the brush pallet and see if it keeps the freeze from happening. Not that it's a big help if you need that feature, but at least the propeller-heads at Adobe have something to work on.

Could it be just one of the items that's triggering this? Like smoothing?

Is the brushes palette visible when this happens?
