We have a DCS file from a client (PS 7, OS X) with three spot colors inserted. We do not want them. How do we "meld" those spot colors back to CMYK so we can then insert just a regular eps into our illustrator file with a full preview?

Thank you for any help!

CMYK mode.

Channel sub menu, merge spot channel.

You need C_M_Y_K plates (blank ones would be good) for the option to be active as to merge the spots into process plates.

CMYK plates?

The file is in CMYK mode.

Thank you so much for your help.

Yea, but what exactly are you trying to do?

Merge, just spot?

Spots with 4 color?

Kind of need a general overview of what you are doing.

That worked wonderfully. Thanks again!

I was merely attempting to merge spot colors with CMYK. I know the colors will change, but that is OK.

Merge was the obvious answer, so thanks. Newbie with some stuff in PS, merely adequate with ohers… 😉
