Converting Type to Shape for printing...

Is it possible to convert Type to Shape across an entire document with a single command?

I find it tedious to search through multiple layers and sets for cases of fonts to convert to shape before sending something off to the printer. A single "convert all fonts to shape?" command would make my life so much easier.

PS: I am using PS 7.1

Thanks!

If your printer is not editing it, why don't you just flatten the image and "save as" a TIFF.

No. But you might save as an eps and make sure you save vector data. Will that be acceptable to the printer?

Nope. This begs the question, though: Why are you setting type in Photoshop for professional printing?

I need my layers intact. There are multiple versions of the file to print, with the differences being very minor (a layer hidden/unhidden here and there). I'm only sending the printer a single file, and I'd rather not have the hassle of including fonts.

If Adobe is reading this, a single "convert all type layers to shape" function would really help, in a future revision!

Thanks.

Have you 'talked' to your printer?

I merge all my graphic layers into one layer, leave the font layers as they are, save as a tiff optomised for macs as that's what the printer uses, I'm on PC and he prints perfectly every time.

Have you 'read' what the guy wrote? He needs those layers un-merged.

Geez, why do people on usenet argue just to hear themselves argue?
