When pasting text from any application into Photoshop, the application crashes

I am using OS X Panther and when copying text from another application (or a browser), and pasting into a Photoshop text field – PS crashes. Any help would be much appreciated.

This may help narrow it down, by noting when it DOESNT happen:

– Photoshop CS
– Safari 1.2.2
– working from same .psd file

– copy text from safari
– switch to PSD file
– create *new* text field (Arial)
– paste text

– all is ok

this leads me to believe the crash may only happen when pasting into an *existing* text field

Could be a corrupted or duplicate active font.

I can’t say I’ve ever experianced this.

do you use a font manager??

your problem is most likely a corrupt font

or a font conflict

recently had a problem copy and pasting images inside PS…nuking prefs didnt work, reinstall didnt work..format reinstall OS and PS did. Dont know if its related.

Thanks for the suggestions, the font being used most often is Arial. How would I troubleshoot a corrupt font? Replace them from someone else’s machine?
