CS2 Mem usage out of control!

247 views1 repliesLast post: 6/21/2005
Hi, few days ago I installed CS2 and everything was working fine However just yesterday when I launched Photoshop, I realized that it memory usage didn't stop at the usual 60ish Mb. It went fro 60..100..200..500..900..1.5Gb  at a rate of roughly 7Mb/sec unti I close Photoshop by which all the memory was freed. This issue onl occurs when I open Photoshop; ImageReady and Bridge are workin perfectly.

I searched the web help, but have not yet found any. I trie restarting, reinstalling, repair, uninstall + delete folders (unde adobe and documents and setting) and clean registry (w/ ccleaner) revert to a back up registry before CS2 installation, system restore but nothing worked.

Please help me. I have been burnt out trying to fix this for the pas 48 hours

Still having the same issue on memory usage shown in task manager.

Few things I noticed.
1. After each fresh install, the welcome page fails to load even whe it is checked, unchecked, and rechecked.
2. Also, the "How-to..." items under "Photoshop Online" in the Hel menu doesn't appear, in contrast to that of my coworker's.
3. There was this once out of numerous starts that the "Adobe Updater
started by which the mem usage stopped at 84Mb.

From the observation, I did:
1. Download Adobe Help Center and installed it, but when openned I go a warning claiming I do not have CS2 installed.
2. Copyed Adobe Help Center folder from a coworker, who's CS2 work perfectly, fixed the warning but still having mem usage issues.
3. Ran Adobe Updater when Photoshop2 starts, but same results
