I never found out how to insert images. I’m sure your can, because I’ve seen pictures where a person put other pictures into the same picture. How can I? Does it have to do with layers?

Yes, layers. Open both images. With the move tool move one of them on top of the other one; a new layer is created.

Or copy from one image and paste into another one (that has the same resolution in ppi if you want to retain the absolute size of both images). Pasting an image onto another one also creates a new layer.
