Change Grey color around canvas

I have no idea how I changed the gray border around the canvas to black. This happens on standard and full screen mode with menu bar. How can I reset it back to gray.

It’s black by default in the second full screen mode so hit F to make sure that’s not what you’re in. In other modes pick the color you want and Shift-Paint bucket. I believe the default gray is R=192, B=192, G=192. Or trash preferences.

The color around the canvas…where there is no image data. You know when you fit the picture and then you drag one of corners and you get a gray border around your image. Well that turned into black just like the full screen mode. I want to revert it back to gray.
