CS2 Batch Command is unavailable - Grayed out

The command button for File > Automate > Batch is grayed out and unselectable. If I select Batch from Bridge, It opens Photo Shop with an error message that says "Batch Command is Unavailable".
I reset all preferences to default, but same problem.

This is a longshot, but check your actions palette. Are your actions still there?

Reason I ask: I can reproduce the grayed out Batch command symptom by deleting all actions in my actions palette.

Thanks - That was it - I reset the actions and all is back normal. I have a lot to learn about this program.
