"Could not open(or create new) file because of a program error" in CS

I have been using CS for months now, and just 2 weeks ago I have been gettin these erros when trying oto open most files, or Creating a New one. Doesn't give any error code just say "due to program error".

If anyone has come across this and knwos how to remedy please help.

Here is a small breakdown of my system

IMAC 1ghz
Panther 10.3.4
256 RAm

how much free diskspace do you have??

Yeah I'm planning on maxin' out the ram shortly, as far as disk space 40 gigs free, but I've had it down to 16 gigs in the past w/ no porblem.

may try adding troub-leshoot or pr-ogram e-rror (w/o the typos) to your search here...
