We are using Adobe Photoshop CS on Mac OS X and when we update a Photoshop file (mostly .tif) and re-save it, it will not update the time stamp on the file. This causes problems if the image is in Quark XPress, because Quark sees the file as not being updated at all, since the time stamp hasn’t changed. If anyone has any suggestions we could really use the help.

Thanks!

More info would help. Exact version of the OS? Version of QXP? Is the file placed, pasted or linked in QXP? Does the Photoshop image show a proper modification date in the Finder?

What routine maintenance do you do? Have you Repaired Permissions? What other troubleshooting steps have you taken?

Etc.

More importantly, are you saving over a network? (If you do, stop.)

Photoshop does change the time stamp when it saves (it can’t avoid that, because the OS sets the time stamp, and because "safe saves" like Photoshop uses create a new file instead of writing into the old file).

What version of Quark XPress?
