Can't create 'New File' in Photoshop CS!

Ever since upgrading to Mac OS 10.2.8 Photoshop has been behaving strangely. Whenever I try to create a new file (File>New) photoshop 'sort of' crashes. I can collapse windows, but nothing else happens! I must 'force quit' to continue using Photoshop. I re-installed it but it still does this! Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions?--AD

trash prefs

repair permissions

reprebind

run cron scripts

PS7 works flawlessly with 10.2.8

but you need to do basic OSX maintenance

I'll bet a dollar that your "New Document" dialogue window is off-screen.

Trashing your prefs should fix it.
