Photoshop CS gives this message each time I try to open a NEF file. Running XP Pro with Service pack 2 in a new Sony VGN-S38GP laptop and 1.5GB Ram. Was opening files, now it doesnt giving the above message. Have updated to the latest DNG Camera Raw 2.4 and all NEF plug-ins as best as I can. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

Kev, do you mean that you have removed all NEF plug-ins? Or at least disabled them by putting a tilde ( ~ ) in front of them. Older version of camera raw are not present in the photoshop directory tree, or are disabled?

BTW, there is a dedicated forum for Camera Raw.

Try disabling the NEF plugin and leaving only Camera Raw, just to make sure they’re not interfering with each other.
