Extended Keyboard Shortcut Action Set for Photoshop CS2

Trevor,

As always, thorough work, but I have a question. Please don't take it as offensive as it may read, it's just that being direct seems to be the quickest route.

What's the point of your extended keyboard shortcuts?

My paradigm is that Form Follows Function - with that in mind, wouldn't one's workflow or specific need drive what actions they need and thus the associated keyboard shortcuts?

Case in point. I have shift-F12 assigned to run a Rotate Arbitrary so that I can use the measure tool, then press Shift-F12 enter, and rotate my image. That's a funciton I use every day, and need. So, why would I, for example, use your keyboard shortcuts.

Sorry if it appears that I'm being dense, I'm just trying to find the point.

Peace,
Tony

Tony,

Nope, fair question. I too have commands I use more frequently than others, depending on the workflow, which is why I've tried to assign them through the Customize command (rather than via the actions). There are a few reasons for maintaining this action set:

1. There are many out there that use it (based on comments I've received and number of downloads);
2. I (and likely others) still prefer some of the keys in the action set over the customize keyboard shortcuts (old habits from pre-customize days);
3. Provides keyshorts for many commands that don't have any;
4. Provides a template that people can customize to suit their preference/workflow; and finally,
5. I maintain it anyway, so why not share? ;-)

I'd like to hear others' opinions as well. Is anyone using this action set (other than me ;-)? Is it useful? Are the commands it contains useful or would other commands be better suited (keeping in mind that they should be common commands that are relatively independent of workflow to make them useful for the majority of users)? Etc.?

Thanks Trevor, I understand. Regardless of whether or not they're useful for me, it is, as usual, an outstanding effort.
