If I’m building PSD files on a Mac using Photoshop CS, will I be able to work on them on a PC running version 6.0?

If so, is there anything special I’ll have to do in order to make it work?

Thanks for the help.

john,

Generally speaking, yes. Exceptions would be any files that incorporate features from CS ( 8 ) that weren’t available in 6. There are no cross-platform issues other than playing it safe and adding the three letter extension to each filename.

Maybe not:

We have confirmed that some files saved from Photoshop CS will not open in Photoshop 6. This is due to a bug in Photoshop 6, not in CS.

These files open correctly in Photoshop 3, 4, 5, 5.5, 7 and CS on both platforms.

The solution is to upgrade the copies of Photoshop 6 to Photoshop CS.

Thanks for the cross-post, Ramón. It’s not for me, but for a student. He wants to work at home this weekend.

I’ll let him know. Thanks guys.

Sorry about any misleading information (who would’ve thought…?).

Thanks, Ramón, for Chris’s note.
